In 2006 presented by: Dr. Arno Wörz, State Natural History Museum Stuttgart, Germany.

This area has been a military training area between 1895 and 2004 and is now being proposed for biosphere reserve. The nature reserve is part of the “Biodiversity Exploratories” project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), which carries out functional biodiversity research in three German nature reserves.
Checklists are available of butterflies, locusts and birds. However, all other groups, including plants, remain to be studied.

Site is not present in the UNEP World Database on Protected areas.
