TEST In 2007 presented by: Prof. Dr. Cees van Achterberg, Natural History Museum Leiden, the Netherlands.

The Strandzha Heritage & Natural park in the Southeast of Bulgaria has been established in 1995 and forms a protected area of 1116m2. Habitats that characterize the largely uninhabited park are large oak and beech lowland forests, unique southern pontic ecosystems and water basins of three main rivers.
There are facilities to stay in the park via the GreenBalkans organization that coordinates biodiversity research in the region. Those facilities can be reached from Burgas airport. GreenBalkans has initiated a database that by now contains all data collected in the Strandzha natural park and international collaboration will greatly enhance the knowledge on regional biodiversity.
